Swipe Photos: Save Space / Support

A little help,
when you need it.

Photo access, everyday choices, and what happens after you delete.

Changing the app language

Open Settings → Language and choose System, English or Russian. System follows your iPhone’s preferred languages, with English as the fallback. Your language choice is saved without resetting your sorting progress. Apple’s system dialogs follow iOS language settings.

Photo library access

Swipe Photos: Save Space requests access to show and analyse photos and to delete files you confirm. Change permission in iOS Settings → Apps → Swipe Photos: Save Space → Photos. If access is denied, sorting is unavailable; your photos stay in the Photos app.

Limited access

You can allow access to selected photos and videos only. The rest of your library stays unavailable to the app. Update your selection in Swipe Photos: Save Space or iOS settings, then refresh the library in the app.

Files stored in iCloud

The app does not automatically download originals: network access is disabled for its resource and preview requests. A cloud-only file may be unavailable to view or analyse. Open it in Photos, let it download to your device, then try again.

Exact duplicates and similar photos

Exact duplicates are matched using all available resources, their sizes and checksums. Different edits or formats may not count as exact copies. Vision looks for visual similarity; similar pictures may still differ. Review each choice.

Short sessions and saved-for-later photos

A short session contains up to 20 available photos and saves your progress. Setting a file aside moves it to a separate collection on the overview screen. It is excluded from deletion selections and new short sessions until you return to it.

Undoing a choice

Use Undo while sorting to reverse your previous decision. History is limited to the most recent 100 actions. You can also deselect files on the review screen. Undoing a selection does not restore an already deleted file.

Confirming deletion

First review your selection in the app, then confirm the iOS system prompt. If you cancel or deletion fails, the selection is kept. With iCloud Photos enabled, deletions may sync to your other devices.

Recently Deleted

Deleted items normally remain in the Recently Deleted album in Photos for up to 30 days. You can recover them while they remain available. Permanent deletion cannot be undone; only proceed when you are sure.

Partially known file sizes

Swipe Photos: Save Space measures available local resources. Sizes may be unknown for cloud-only or unavailable originals. Categories can overlap, so their sizes cannot be added together. These are file sizes, not a promise of immediately freed storage.

Analysis is taking a while

Reading large local videos during the first analysis can take time. You can pause analysis in settings; it also stops when the app goes into the background. Results are cached, and you can keep sorting while analysis runs.
