Kitchen Expiry is provided by Kirill Kashin, operating as Vareniq Studio in Cyprus. For privacy questions, contact [email protected]. This policy describes version 1.0.0, prepared on 2 November 2026.
Your data on this iPhone
Your kitchen, quantities, dates, shopping list, purchase history, food diary, nutrition preferences, saved product photos and recognition corrections are stored locally. No account is required. We do not run a server that receives these records, and the app has no advertising or analytics SDK.
Subscriptions and purchases
All features in this version are available without a subscription. The app does not request purchases or send payment information. Receipt imports are unlimited. Counters from earlier versions may remain on this device, but no longer restrict scanning.
Camera, photos and recognition
Package and receipt recognition runs on your device using Apple Vision and a bundled receipt recognition model. Images are not uploaded for recognition. Optional product photos and their originals after background removal are saved locally. Temporary scan images are released after successful recognition. The app does not save camera images to Photos; images selected from Photos remain in your library.
Barcode lookup
The app first checks a local catalog and recent lookup history. If a barcode is missing, its number is sent over HTTPS to Open Food Facts. The service also receives ordinary network information, such as your IP address, and our app name, version and public contact address. It does not receive the camera image, your kitchen or diary. Open Food Facts handles its service records under its own privacy policy. Local barcode history keeps up to 200 recent products.
Reminders and permissions
Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone and may include a product name and date. You can disable them in the app or iOS Settings. Camera and selected-photo access are optional; manual entry remains available.
Backups and deletion
Apple device backups may include app data according to your settings. Exported app backups contain your saved records and photos; keep them somewhere you trust. You can edit or delete kitchen, shopping and diary entries. Deleting a kitchen product does not erase its separately recorded diary or purchase history. Removing the app removes its local store; device backups and exported files remain under your control.
Contact and external services
If you email us, your address, message and attachments are used to answer your request and follow up as needed. Please avoid sending receipts or photos unless needed for your question. We retain correspondence only as needed to provide support and meet applicable obligations. Contact us about access, correction or deletion of information you have sent us. Open Food Facts and any website you open have their own privacy policies.
